'Yikes!' Jamal Adams' Cowardly Move on Wife After Dallas Cowboys Game Merits Apology From Seattle Seahawks
FRISCO - What Seattle Seahawks safety Jamal Adams did in trying to start trouble with Dallas Cowboys tight end Jake Ferguson - who later on "Thursday Night Football'' cooked Adams for the game-winning touchdown catch in a 41-35 win - was lame ... but within the boundaries of NFL play.
What Adams did later in responding to a reporter's social media post making note of Ferguson having scored against the overmatched Adams - "Yikes'' wrote New York media member Connor Hughes - is so out of bounds as to be cowardly.
How did Adams expressed his displeasure with being cited on Twitter for having given up a touchdown? He took the time to look up Hughes ... found a picture of the reporter posing with his wife and baby - and zoomed in to focus on Hughes' wife with his own "Yikes'' caption.
This isn't about whether Hughes is a good person or a good guy; he is well within his rights, as we all are, to watch a football game and critique its plays.
This also isn't about whether Adams, who happens to be a Dallas-area native, is a good person or a good guy (though he is certainly doing himself no favors here.)
This is about Adams, at age 28 a seven-year NFL veteran, demonstrating the thinnest of skin and the grossest of behavior. The attack on a reporter's family is alarming - and his Seahawks employers should see it that way.
And to the defense that Adams eventually deleted his outrageous post? He still put up a follow-up tweet that stated, "Don’t start nothin won’t be nothin.'' ... and then retweeted another’s post ...
"I don’t know why media members think they can constantly scrutinize and personally demean, belittle, and antagonize players with no repercussions. It’s all “business is business,” until it’s not. So understand, players are real people, too.''
Adams thinks a merited "repercussion'' is to attack a reporter's family? He thinks a tweet saying "Yikes'' after he failed on a play is "personally demeaning, belittling, and antagonizing''?
What Jamal Adams did against the Cowboys - his greatest achievement was trying to start a fight with Ferguson - makes it appear he's not very capable at his job, physically. What Jamal Adams is doing against an innocent woman who has nothing to do with any of this makes it appear he not very capable of intellect and class.
