Giants Daniel Jones Wide Eyed at Prospect of Giants Drafting QB

The 2024 NFL Draft is just over one week away, and for the New York Giants, one thing is clear: improving their offense and scoring is a must. New York holds the sixth overall pick in this year's draft and must seek an upgrade at key positions such as quarterback or wide receiver.

The Giants completed 2023 with a 6-11 record and averaged fewer than 170 passing yards per game, second worst for passing in the NFL.

Quarterback Daniel Jones' season-ending ACL injury did not help, but his performance before the injury, with only 2 TD passes and 6 interceptions during six games, did not convince anyone he was the answer at QB.

Jones' 2023 season stats are terrible:

  • 76.5 completion percentage
  • 909 passing yards
  • 2 TDs
  • 6 interceptions
  • 70.5 QBR

The Giants must face reality that Daniel Jones may not be the answer at the QB position. Jones' contract terms allows the Giants to reasonably move on after the 2024 season. Do they give Jones another shot for 2024, or move on?

During a recent interview Daniel Jones was wide-eyed when asked about the Giants drafting a new QB in this years draft.

The current odds makers lines on the Giants selection with the No.6 pick:

  • Malik Nabers WR LSU +145
  • Rome Odunze WR Washington +250
  • J.J. McCarthy QB Michigan +500
  • Joe Alt OT Notre Dame +850
  • Marvin Harrison Jr. WR Ohio State +1000
