Texas NT T'Vondre Sweat continues to be difficult evaluation

2024 NFL Draft prospect Texas NT T'Vondre Sweat has proven to be a difficult evaluation in multiple facets.

Every year, there are a few players in the NFL Draft who are difficult to evaluate. There are a lot of different reasons why they could be whether it be body type, off the field or play style. The 2024 NFL Draft class isn't short of those players.

One of the more intriguing players in the NFL Draft is Texas nose tackle T'Vondre Sweat. He is a massive human being having weighed in at 366 lbs. After not weighing in at the Senior Bowl, there were rumors that Sweat didn't weigh because he was closer to 380 lbs than his listed weight at Texas of 364 lbs.

That type of swing can be massive for a player like Sweat and has made him a very difficult evaluation for The Athletic's Dane Brugler. On The Athletic Football Show, Brugler said that Sweat "was pushing 390 lbs" during the College Football Playoffs.

When you play nose tackle, the goal is to be a gap stuffer. You don't want to be so big that you can't move. It's why you often see nose tackles around that 330 lb range because good movement skills can take you to a different level as a nose tackle. Just ask Vince Wilfork how that helped him over the years.

Now, it's not the only thing that has made Sweat a tough evaluation. He was arrested earlier in April on suspiscion of DWI. That didn't ease the apparent party concerns that some had with Sweat off the field. On the field, Sweat also struggles with double teams. That isn't something you want from your nose tackle.

Where will Sweat go? If he struggled with his interviews, there is a chance he could fall down into day three after being a fringe first round pick at the beginning of the process.
