After saying goodbye to one of the franchise’s all-time greats in Jason Kelce, the Philadelphia Eagles are seeing another legend walk out the door.

Eagles defensive tackle Fletcher Cox officially announced his retirement on social media Sunday by releasing a lengthy statement.

“I gave everything I had to this team and to this city,” Cox wrote.

The statement includes a focus on the day he was drafted along with shoutouts to Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie, general manager Howie Roseman, and former coaches. He also penned a message to his mom along with a paragraph dedicated to Kelce, Lane Johnson and Brandon Graham.

Take a look at the full statement:

Instead of signing with another team after 12 years with the Eagles, Cox decided to take the path less traveled by playing his entire career with one franchise. Originally the No. 12 overall pick out of Mississippi State in the 2012 draft, he played in 188 games while tallying 519 total tackles, 70 sacks, 16 forced fumbles, 14 fumble recoveries, 17 passes defended and two touchdowns.

A six-time Pro Bowler and one-time All-Pro, Cox ends his career with one Super Bowl ring and two NFC titles.
