Eagles Ex Kevin Byard Signing With Bears: Details

After being cut by the Philadelphia Eagles last week, it didn't take long for veteran safety Kevin Byard to land back on his feet with a new team.

Per multiple reports Sunday, Byard is signing with the Chicago Bears on a two-year deal worth a base of $15 million.

This marks the third team he'll be a part of over the past year. The Eagles acquired Byard, 30, from the Tennessee Titans in a midseason trade in October, but he didn't pan out the way the team expected. Philly cut him on March 1 in a move that cleared $13.7 million in cap space.

Byard, a two-time Pro Bowler and two-time All-Pro during his impressive run with the Titans, played in just 10 games with the Eagles. He posted 75 total tackles, three passes defended and one interception with Philly this past season.
