Philadelphia Eagles 'Trash'? 'I Regret Nothing!' Says 49ers' Deebo Samuel Before Rematch
The San Francisco 49ers still harbor the belief that if not for some untimely injuries, they, and not the Philadelphia Eagles, would have advanced to last year's Super Bowl.
This season, they've kept up their criticism of the NFC champs, with Niners star Deebo Samuel having called Philly cornerback James Bradberry "trash.''
Now comes the rematch, a marquee Week 13 matchup between the two powerhouses - and an opportunity for Deebo to soften his position. the San Francisco 49ers.
So, Samuel, do you have any regrets over your incendiary comments about Bradberry?
"I don't regret nothing I said," Samuel responded.
The Eagles are 10-1 and remain a thorn in the side of most every foe. But ever since San Francisco endured a 31-7 loss in the NFC Championship Game - with both active 49ers quarterbacks Brock Purdy and Josh Johnson getting injured during the game - the Niners have especially expressed bitterness.
Samuel said in May that the only reason his team lost "because we played with 10 people."
Samuel's Niners are 8-3 and trying to play catch-up with the Eagles, who play host in this week's duel. ... meaning of course that Philly fans will get to have their say - and will get to issue their response to Deebo, who also has said this about the setup, and about the Eagles being his "most hated'' opponent ...
"All the trash talk coming from the Eagles fan base and the players, you just get tired of that," Samuel said.
