The Philadelphia Eagles are making a notable veteran addition to their tight end room with the 2024 NFL Draft exactly two weeks away.

Per reports from NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the Eagles are expected to sign former New York Jets tight end C.J. Uzomah to a one-year deal after he met with the team on Thursday.

Dec 22, 2022; East Rutherford, New Jersey, USA; New York Jets tight end C.J. Uzomah (87).

Here's the official report from Rapoport:

"FA TE CJ Uzomah, the former Bengals and Jets starter, is expected to sign a one-year deal with the Eagles, per me and @MikeGarafolo," Rapoport tweeted." Uzomah, who flew to Philly today and passed his physical, should bolster their passing attack and give the offense an added weapon.

Uzomah played seven seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals and appeared in Super Bowl LVI at the end of the 2021 season. He signed with New York following the Super Bowl loss to the Los Angeles Rams, but had trouble finding similar production the past two seasons with a struggling Jets team.

Uzomah, 31, was originally a fifth-round pick by Cincinnati out of Auburn in the 2015 draft. In 106 career regular-season games, he's tallied 192 catches for 1,881 yards and 16 touchdowns. His best season came during the Bengals' run to the Super Bowl in 2021, as he finished with career-best marks in catches (49), receiving yards (493) and touchdowns (five).

In the Super Bowl, he posted two catches for 11 yards.
