Atlanta Falcons Offense 'Gotta Look Ourselves in the Mirror,' Says Drake London

Following a second straight loss, what can the Atlanta Falcons blame for such a slow start on offense?

The Atlanta Falcons suffered their second consecutive loss this weekend, but has the team been beating itself?

Wide receiver Drake London recently shared his thoughts following the team’s loss versus the Jacksonville Jaguars in London.

“Maybe ourselves,” London said regarding what’s holding the offense back. “I think we gotta look ourselves in the mirror—figure some things out. We’ve got a lot of talented players we’ve just gotta go out there and make those plays.”

Despite Atlanta investing its past three first-round picks in tight end Kyle Pitts, London, and running back Bijan Robinson, a trio of talented playmakers, the team’s offense has been stagnant.

Through four games, the Falcons are tied for the fourth-fewest points scored per game at 15.5 points and seven or less in their two losses. Quite simply, it’s been Bijan or bust for this offense’s success.

While the team should look at itself and improve, the truth is that the front office and coaching staff should be doing the same thing.

Drafting all that firepower without having a serviceable quarterback is like getting a Lamborghini without a license.

Quarterback Desmond Ridder hasn’t looked like a long-term solution at quarterback thus far. On Sunday, he turned the ball over the times, causing some fans to speculate that it could be Taylor Heinicke’s time to shine as a starter yet again after signing as a backup in the offseason.

Heading into Week 5 against historically great rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud and the Houston Texans, Atlanta can only hope that one of their quarterbacks can spark some life into this passing offense.
