Giants Re-sign LB Isaiah Simmons

In a surprise move, the Giants are bringing back inside linebacker Isaiah Simmons.

In a surprise move, the New York Giants have re-signed inside linebacker Isaiah Simmons to a one-year deal, per a source; the financial terms are not immediately known.

Simmons, whom the Giants acquired in a trade last summer with the Arizona Cardinals for a 2024 seventh-round draft pick, appeared in 17 games last season with four starts. He recorded 50 tackles, including two tackles for a loss, one quarterback hit, and one interception.

He played all 17 games, eventually worked his way into specific roles in the nickel and dime packages, and carved himself a spot on special teams.

A former eighth-overall pick, Simmons has never missed a game in his career. He's played a more specialized role on defense, including nickel pass coverage with the occasional blitz.

He also contributed to special teams. His best role on defense was lining up on the edge, from where he filled numerous roles.
