Giants' second-year cornerback Sam Beal, who has been on injured reserve since the start of the season with a hamstring strain, has been designated to return from injured reserve by the Giants.

Beal, 6-foot-1, 192 pounds, began a 21-day window Wednesday in which he'll be able to practice for the first time since training camp.

Beal, who missed his rookie season with a shoulder ailment for which he had surgery, is eligible to return to the Active Roster any time between October 28 and November 6, the later date being the end of the 21 days.

The Giants selected Beal in the third round of the 2018 supplemental draft.
