Eagles Defender Fires Back at Giants' Julian Love's Comments About Nick Sirianni

The war of words continues between two bitter NFC East rivals.

Philadelphia Eagles defensive back Chauncey Gardner-Johnson didn't mince words when he was recently asked about New York Giants safety Julian Love's comments last week about Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni.

Love, appearing on Good Morning Football, delivered a backhanded compliment to Sirianni, calling him a "great coach" but adding "he wasn’t “getting in the way of his team.

"He's in for a free ride right now," Love said, adding to the GMFB hosts, "You guys could coach this team."

Love also admitted to having issues with Sirianni's sideline antics during the Eagles playoff game against the Giants, specifically when Sirianni appeared to be bragging to the cameras by nodding his head up and down as his team clinched a 38-7 victory.

“I don’t like it,” Love said.

After Love's comments hit the airwaves, Eagles defensive end Brandon Graham told reporters, "People always got something to say when they're watching from home."

That was mild compared to what Gardner-Johnson said during Opening Night at the Super Bowl on Monday.

“Tell him to pick his facemask off the dirt,” Gardner-Johnson said, according to Jimmy Kempski of the Philly Voice. “He’s got a captain badge, but what is he a captain of? Ain’t no leadership over there. If that’s the case, y’all would be where we’re at.”

The start of the 2023 season is still months away, but the war of words continues ahead of another explosive series between the Giants and Eagles.
