Giants, Lions to Hold Joint Training Camp Practices

Get ready for some big-time intensity in the preseason.

If you thought the kneecap biting was fierce enough last season when the New York Giants hosted the Detroit Lions in the regular season, then good news.

The feisty Lions, who just barely missed the postseason last year, and the Giants have been planning joint practices this summer, as confirmed by Lions head coach (and former Giants tight end) Dan Campbell at the league meetings Tuesday.

The joint practices will be hosted by the Lions, according to MLive.com.

The Giants and Lions last met in the regular season last year in Week 11, a game in which the Lions dominated the Giants 31-18. The two teams last held joint practices in 2018 when Matt Patricia was the head coach of the Lions, and Pat Shurmur was the head coach of the Giants.

The Athletic reported that the Giants will also hold one joint practice with the Jets prior to their preseason game. Last year the Giants hosted the Jets for a joint practice, so it's likely that this year's joint session will be hosted by the Jets at their training facility in Florham Park.
