NFL Power Rankings: Week 8 - Do the Jaguars Make a Jump?

After an eventful Week 7 in the NFL, where do the Jacksonville Jaguars rise or fall to in the JaguarMaven power rankings following their 27-17 victory at the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday? We examine below:

NFL Power Rankings

1. New England Patriots (7-0)

2. New Orleans Saints (6-1)

3. Green Bay Packers (6-1)

4. San Francisco 49ers (6-0)

5. Kansas City Chiefs (5-2)

6. Minnesota Vikings (5-2)

7. Baltimore Ravens (5-2)

8. Seattle Seahawks (5-2)

9. Buffalo Bills (5-1)

10. Indianapolis Colts (4-2)

11. Houston Texans (4-3)

12. Carolina Panthers (4-2)

13. Los Angeles Rams (4-3)

14. Dallas Cowboys (4-3)

15. Arizona Cardinals (3-3-1)

16. Oakland Raiders (3-3)

17. Detroit Lions (2-3-1)

18. Philadelphia Eagles (3-4)

19. Jacksonville Jaguars (3-4): The Jaguars get a slight bump in our power rankings after Sunday's win, but it is not because they blew the doors off of the Bengals in dominant fashion other than when Andy Dalton-led hilarity ensued in the game's final quarter. The Jaguars were trailing 7-6 at halftime and trailed going into the 4th quarter as well. But on the flip side, an ugly win is better than even the most encouraging loss, so they fared better than some other teams this week.

20. Pittsburgh Steelers (2-4)

21. Chicago Bears (3-3)

22. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2-4)

23. Tennessee Titans (3-4)

24. Denver Broncos (2-5)

25. New York Giants (2-5)

26. Cleveland Browns (2-4)

27. New York Jets (1-5)

28. Washington Redskins (1-6)

29. Los Angeles Chargers (2-5)

30. Atlanta Falcons (1-6)

31. Cincinnati Bengals (0-7)

32. Miami Dolphins (0-7)

Other Jaguars Rankings

ESPN - #22

Nobody is running away with the division, so the Jaguars are still alive and thinking playoffs. The run game is cranking (Leonard Fournette is the AFC's leading rusher), rookie QB Gardner Minshew II has done a good job in place of Nick Foles, and Foles is on track for a Nov. 17 return. Injuries are starting to mount, especially at linebacker, so that's problematic, and the red zone production is not very good either, so there are some major issues to overcome. However, three of the Jaguars' next four games are against division opponents, so the season will be determined in that stretch.

CBS - #15

At 3-4, they have a real chance to get to .500 against the Jets this week at home. The offense rolled up big numbers against the Bengals.

Bleacher Report - #22

Jacksonville quarterback Gardner Minshew II didn't play well—the rookie completed less than half of his passes. But his team gouged Cincinnati's terrible run defense to the tune of 216 yards on 44 carries. The Jags also took advantage of four turnovers—including one they returned for a touchdown.

USA Today - #20

Despite losing starting QB in Week 1, then getting strongarmed into trading their top player, they're only one back of Colts in win column.

Yahoo Sports - #18

Rookie pass rusher Josh Allen is paying off. He had another sack Sunday, his third straight game with a sack and his fifth in five games. It was a little surprising he slipped to the seventh pick of the draft, and the Jaguars have to be thrilled he did.
