After another successful effort in Week 2, the NFL slate is set for Week 3. Today, the Patriots travel to New York to take on their AFC rival Jets. Both of these teams are coming off of losses at the moment and are looking to bounce back to stay alive in their competitive division. The Patriots suffered a tough loss at home to a very talented Dolphins team whose offense looks impressive, as they appear to be potential Super Bowl contenders. The Jets also lost to a great team in the Dallas Cowboys, who were able to expose the Jets on both sides of the ball in a 30-10 beat down.

This makes Sunday’s matchup between New England and New York an exciting one. Both teams take pride in their defense and have young quarterbacks looking to prove themselves as a threat in the AFC. Keep reading for our experts’ Patriots vs. Jets prediction, as well as some Patriots vs. Jets player prop picks. Also, we will be directing you to DraftKings Sportsbook where new users can receive an unbelievable $350 offer.

Patriots vs. Jets Prediction for Sunday, 9/24

There’s no doubt that the AFC East rivalry between the Patriots and Jets is still alive and well. It’s not often that these teams square off with the Jets in front of the Patriots in the standings, but that will be the case this Sunday. On Sunday Night Football, the Patriots spotted the Dolphins multiple scores, just like they did in Week 1 against the Eagles. This is clearly an issue for the Pats, as they’ve clawed all the way back in both of their two losses, just to turn the ball over on downs on their final drive.

This week, the Patriots will look to get an early lead and finally establish dominance early. Mac Jones has been respectable thus far, as he went 31/42 passing for 231 yards last week. His offensive line has been struggling and not giving him enough time to operate. We expect the offensive line to take a leap in the right direction today in New York. On top of the line struggling, the Patriots had an uncharacteristic fumble by Demario Douglas and a bad interception which both proved to be costly.

On the other side, Zach Wilson threw three interceptions in Dallas on Sunday, as he was just 12/27 passing for a total of 170 yards. The Cowboys took full advantage of these mistakes and blew them out 30-10. Garrett Wilson was the only bright spot for New York’s offense, as he had 83 yards receiving, including a 41-yard touchdown catch. After only putting up 10 points last week, the Jets will likely score more this time around against a Patriots defense that’s allowed more than 20 points in both of their games thus far.

We predict that this game could get a bit sloppy based on both teams’ turnover history so far this year. However, we think both offenses have potential for big plays, and the game total is extremely low. Zach Wilson and Mac Jones know how to create offense, and we think both of these teams can score 20+ points in this one to go over the game total. The total is currently set at over/under 36.5 points. Our experts are taking the over 36.5 (-115 at DraftKings).

Patriots vs. Jets Player Prop Picks Highlighting Ezekiel Elliott & Zach Wilson

As stated above, we’re going with the over 36.5 total points as our main Patriots vs. Jets prediction. However, we also want to provide you with some fun player props to take a stab at on Sunday. First off, we like Ezekiel Elliot any time touchdown scorer at +340 at DraftKings. Elliott has yet to find the endzone for New England, and his role on the team is to be used in the red zone. This is one of the main reasons New England went after Zeke, along with his pass blocking. Let’s ride with Elliott to score his first TD in a Patriots uniform on Sunday.

We also believe we may have found an edge on Zach Wilson’s passing yards. Wilson’s over/under for passing yards is currently set at 181.5. This number is almost insulting to a starting NFL quarterback, and Wilson has all the tools to go over this number. With Garrett Wilson running routes against a Patriots defense that’s allowed 20+ points per game so far, we like Wilson to throw at least 185 or more yards. We like Wilson to have a solid day and go over 181.5 passing yards (-125) at DraftKings.

Jets Injury Report Ahead of Today

When we look at the Jets injury report, there are a few things worth noting. First and foremost, Breece Hall is battling a knee injury and has been limited in practice this week. His status for Sunday remains unknown. Also, linebacker Quincy Williams has a knee injury and has been limited as well. His status is also in question for Sunday. Kicker Greg Zuerlein has a groin injury and did not practice at the start of this week, which could also prove to be an issue for the Jets if he can’t suit up today.
