The fans were back at Jets' Training Camp on Sunday and the energy returned with them.

Allen Lazard, Randall Cobb and Mekhi Becton were all active for Practice No. 8 and free agent Dalvin Cook was present, too.

The enthusiastic spectators welcomed Cook, a four-time Pro Bowler, to Florham Park by chanting his name in idolizing fashion.

The crowd saw a "You Got Mossed" moment courtesy of Allen Lazard. The 6-foot-5 receiver pulled in a 16-yard pass over safety Jordan Whitehead in front right corner of the end zone.

On the defensive side, cornerback D.J. Reed had an impressive pass breakup against receiver Malik Taylor deep down the right sideline and undrafted rookie Deslin Alexandre recorded a notable "training camp" sack.

After two hours of on-field work, head coach Robert Saleh, tight end CJ Uzomah and defensive lineman Micheal Clemons all spoke at the podium. One noteworthy quote from each man is listed below.

Robert Saleh

"We’re really just trying to get the young guys a lot of playing time, see what we got in them. We’re not anticipating any of our starters playing and a couple of vets for that matter. It’s going to be a lot of young guys running around and trying to showcase their skills and try to make the 53-man roster."

Don't expect to see Aaron Rodgers take the field during Thursday night's Hall of Fame Game.

Heading into game week, Saleh addressed his plans for the NFL's first preseason contest of the year, which will air live on NBC at 8:30 pm ET on August 3.

The third-year head coach mentioned that quarterback Zach Wilson, offensive tackle Mekhi Becton and first-round rookie edge rusher Will McDonald are all expected to play against the Cleveland Browns in Thursday's preseason lid-lifter.

Micheal Clemons

"Last year, I came in and was trying to learn the playbook. I was just really trying to find my way at my position. This year, I know the playbook well, so I can just move a little bit faster."

Looking bad and bulked up, the second-year defensive lineman is a popular pick for breakout candidate this season. The 2022 fourth-round draft pick has self-reportedly upped his weight to 285 pounds and wants to show the NFL world that the Jets have a "bleeping monster" who can play both inside and out.

The 6-foot-5 Clemons logged 311 defensive snaps last fall, accounting for 2.5 sacks and six quarterback hits.

CJ Uzomah

"It's been a while. It feels good to be back out there with the boys. Two days ago, it was a little bit of an adjustment period for me, so I got just very minimal reps. It felt great to have a full day under my belt and the offense was clicking a little bit today. All in all a good day."

Heading into the second season of the three-year deal he signed in 2022, Uzomah started training camp on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list due to a leg injury that he suffered on the last day of OTAs.

Uzomah, who was a practice participant for the first time on Thursday, saw increased action during Sunday's session. The veteran tight end was targeted only 27 times in the Jets' passing game last fall after enjoying a career year in 2021 with the Cincinnati Bengals.
