Detroit Lions cornerback Darius Slay spoke to reporters on Thursday following the trade of team captain Quandre Diggs.

His frustration regarding the trade was evident.

"We have been playing together five years. A team captain. That was crazy, though," Slay expressed. "No matter how much you put in, at the end of the day, it is a business. Nobody is safe."

Slay was also asked about how the move will affect the team on the field.

He commented, "I don't know how it is better or worse, if you trade an alternate Pro Bowler in his prime."

While talking with the media, Slay did not give a ringing endorsement on staying with the Lions, either.

He expressed that he doesn't feel strongly about where he plays football. Instead, the most important thing to him is being able to continue playing.

This led some reporters to surmise that Slay is still reeling from the move and is unhappy with Detroit because of it.

All of this from Slay is very relevant due to him having only one year remaining on his contract.

Will the Lions decide to move him as a result of these comments and recent tweets of his that indicate he is unhappy?

The NFL trade deadline is Tuesday, Oct. 29, at 4 p.m.
