Lions Announce Divisional Round Roster Moves

Two players called up from practice squad for Sunday's game.

The Detroit Lions announced roster decisions ahead of Sunday's Divisional round showdown against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Fullback Jason Cabinda and defensive tackle Tyson Alualu were both elevated from the practice squad to the active roster. It's the second consecutive week that both players have been bumped up and activated for game day.

Also, Julian Okwara was re-signed to the practice squad.

Cabinda has played in five games this season, including last week's Wild Card matchup against Los Angeles. Originally on the active roster, Cabinda was waived after returning from a long stint on injured reserve.

After clearing waivers, he returned to the Lions on the practice squad and has been elevated each of the last two games.

This week marks the fourth in a row that Alualu has been elevated. The 14th-year pro has logged five tackles in his previous three showings.

The Lions have a prime opportunity to continue their playoff run, as a victory would put them just one win away from the Super Bowl

As a result, veteran Taylor Decker said the team is embracing the opportunity to continue its trek toward the pinnacle of success in football.

"I think the big thing to keep in perspective here is what got us here at this point. And, it's just going out there, being ourselves as players every single day and putting the work in," Decker said. "Ultimately, we know that our coaching staff is gonna put us in the best position to succeed. We're at the point where we get to play in this game because we've earned it.

"It wasn't dumb luck that we ended up in this situation. So, we're excited for the opportunity just to get to keep playing and keep getting a chance to chip away at our goals."
