Cheers! No NFL Fan Drinks Like a Packers Fan
GREEN BAY, Wis. – The Green Bay Packers have had plenty to cheer – and reasons to say “Cheers” – over the years. And, with just one Super Bowl win over the last quarter-century, they’ve had many reasons to feel like the Hank Williams’ classic “Tear in My Bear.”

And then maybe my heart

A study conducted by PicksWise in July found that no NFL team’s fans drink more beer than Packers fans. Whether they’re filling Lambeau Field or sitting on their couch, a survey of 3,000-plus adults found that the average Packers fan consumes 6.3 beers per game.
“True Packers fans still have feelings about (Brett) Favre’s exit, Aaron Rodgers’ love of meditative retreats, or their team’s postseason inconsistencies, making it easy to love a cold beer. Or six,” noted the authors.
No wonder the Packers are always among the NFL leaders in revenue. The average beer at Lambeau Field in 2022 costs $9.50. Even if 10,000 fans in a game hit that 6.3-beer average, that would be almost $600,000 per game to fuel the team’s prodigious revenue stream.
Whether the Packers are rolling to another 20-point win during another 13-win season or they’re stinking up the joint in another cold-weather playoff debacle, lyrics to the Florida Georgia Line song “Beer:30” seems accurate:
Get a bottle, get a can
I probably get a couple in each hand
And with each beer that’s sold and every keg that’s emptied, it’s another reason to play Aaron Rodgers’ favorite song, “The Beer Barrel Polka”:

The Packers are the runaway winners of the beer standings. Rounding out the top five were the Chicago Bears (5.2), Las Vegas Raiders (4.6), Minnesota Vikings (4.5) and Philadelphia Eagles (4.1).
The results shouldn’t be a surprise. A 2021 study found that Wisconsin is the drunkest state in the United States. The state’s capital, Madison, is the drunkest city in the nation and 11 of the drunkest counties in the nation are located in Wisconsin.
The Pickswise study shows that, once again, Packers own the Bears. If Jordan Love and the Packers win at Chicago in Week 1, the amount of tears in Bears fans’ beers could mean a new champion next year.

- Fourth in tailgating
- Fifth in number of female fans
- 30th in most addicted to social media
- 29th in biggest potheads. The New York Jets are No. 1 for potheads.
