GREEN BAY, Wis. – The Green Bay Packers, once the betting favorite to retain the services of four-time MVP quarterback Aaron Rodgers, are now the No. 3 choice at DraftKings Sportsbook.

DraftKings reposted its next-team odds for Rodgers on Thursday morning. They were the same odds as when the bet closed on Super Bowl Eve: The Las Vegas Raiders a heavy favorite at -350, with the Packers at +225 (after closing to +175) and the New York Jets inching to +450.

The odds updated on Thursday afternoon. The shift was significant.

The Raiders remain a significant favorite but those odds have lengthened to -250. The Jets’ odds shortened to +250. The Packers fell back to +300.

By implied probability, the Raiders are 71.4 percent, the Jets are 28.6 percent and the Packers are 25.0 percent.

No other team is really in the conversation, at least from a sportsbook perspective, with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers among the teams at +1800.

The Jets probably are the logical destination for Rodgers because they have not hidden their desire to add a top veteran quarterback to what is an otherwise-strong roster. The addition of offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett and a familiar scheme would be enticing to Rodgers.

“We are going to look for an experienced quarterback to come in and help us and help develop these other young players,” Jets owner Woody Johnson told ESPN’s Dianna Russini at NFL Honors.

“You want the best quarterback that you can get to lead the Jets. I think with a good quarterback and our great defense – and the defense will be a lot better with a quarterback that’s actually doing it – it’s plug and play. If a quarterback comes in, it’s kind of an ideal situation.”

The Jets have inquired about Rodgers’ availability, according to ESPN.com’s Jeremy Fowler.

So, given the Jets’ interest, why are the Raiders the betting favorite by a considerable margin aside from the presence of Rodgers’ former All-Pro teammate, Davante Adams?

Because Rodgers is the lone high-profile option for Las Vegas – assuming the Ravens truly are “200 percent” committed to Lamar Jackson. The Raiders could sign a lesser veteran as a placeholder and pivot to using the No. 7 pick of this year’s draft on their future quarterback. The Jets, on the other hand, have two veteran options: Rodgers and former Raiders quarterback Derek Carr. The Jets are +400 to land Carr.

“I think the Jets are going to have a very tough decision on their hands,” Peter King said on The Rich Eisen Show. “I think they will go after Rodgers, if he does play, and if they don’t get him, I think they will at least put their sniffers out and seriously consider Lamar Jackson.”
