Tom Brady and Josh Gordon have closer relationship than you think
With Tom Brady posting an Instagram video on Wednesday of him and Josh Gordon practicing together, it makes one think how close the two players really are. Gordon is away from the team for the time being because of his suspension, but that hasn't stopped Brady from contacting him to meet up and catch passes, amongst other things.
Well, it looks like we now have a better idea of the kind of relationship the quarterback and receiver have. Jeff Darlington of ESPN shared on "NFL Live" what's going on behind closed doors with Gordon and Brady.
“(Brady) recognized that Josh Gordon made the team better and he recognized that he was going to need some attention," Darlington said. "Josh Gordon was going out to dinner with Tom Brady and Gisele [Bundchen] at times because Tom recognized that he needs to bring this guy in, foster him, make him feel like he is at home, recognizing some of the issues that Josh Gordon goes through."
“While that is, in part, a guy just trying to get better, it’s also Tom Brady being a really good person, continuing to try to help out and manifest Josh Gordon ... Tom Brady, to this day, really respects Josh Gordon and would love to see him live a better life."
Brady seems to be doing everything he can to help Gordon stay on the right track. He knows how important it is to be a positive influence on someone like Gordon, who continues to struggle with substance abuse. He also knows that if Gordon can get past his struggles he will be a tremendous help to the Patriots offense.
