New England Patriots defensive end Deatrich Wise has been named the NFLPA's Week 6 Community MVP, according to ESPN Insider Adam Schefter.

Wise earned the award for hosting a block party at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston’s Mattapan Teen Center and pledging to donate $10,000 back to the community.

The NFL Community MVP program recognizes NFL players who are making a positive impact in their local communities. Each week during the regular season, the NFLPA celebrates one player who has demonstrated a commitment to giving back to his community.
