Falcons Heavy Favorites To Hire Ex Patriots Coach Belichick

The latest odds have been revealed for ex New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick's next team, with the Atlanta Falcons emerging as clear frontrunners.

After 24 years together, the New England Patriots parted ways with head coach Bill Belichick in the aftermath of a 4-13 record this past season.

The Patriots have moved onto their new era, introducing new coach Jerod Mayo on Wednesday - but what's next for Belichick?

The six-time Super Bowl champion hasn't generated considerable external interest, at least in terms of interviews, as the Atlanta Falcons are the lone team to meet with him.

The Atlanta Falcons are the favorites to land former New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick.

The Atlanta Falcons are the favorites to land former New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick.

However, following a one-on-one meeting with Falcons owner Arthur Blank on Monday, Belichick will interview with Atlanta's top decision makers - Blank, CEO Rich McKay and general manager Terry Fontenot - this weekend.

Belichick is the first candidate the Falcons have interviewed twice, signifying the depth of interest from each side.

Naturally, oddsmakers have taken note ... and the Falcons are clear favorites to get Belichick's services.

Atlanta's currently listed at -300 to land Belichick, per DraftKings. The next closest option is ... any other NFL team, slotted at +500. Belichick not coaching rounds out the top-three at +600.

Among other teams with current head coach vacancies, the Washington Commanders (+1200) have the best odds, followed by the Los Angeles Chargers (+1600) and Tennessee Titans (+2000).

Atlanta's odds changed from +250 to -300 following news of Belichick's weekend meeting with Falcons management.

In essence, the race for Belichick appears to be the Falcons vs. the field - and with another interview looming in the days ahead, Atlanta may have a chance to beat the pack across the finish line.
