DeAndre Hopkins Reveals Interest in Patriots - WATCH

The New England Patriots still have a need at wide receiver, but don't seem "in'' when it comes to trading for Arizona Cardinals star DeAndre Hopkins.

The DeAndre Hopkins trade saga continues as the current Arizona Cardinals wide receiver has seemingly ruled out the potential of joining the New England Patriots ... Well, at least non-verbally.

In a recent interview with the "All Things Covered" podcast, Hopkins was asked to express his interest in teams, except he could only use his facial expressions. Of the teams that Hopkins was asked about, he showed a lack of interest in joining the Patriots and the New York Jets. ...

But did seem to like the idea of being traded to the Kansas City Chiefs and the Buffalo Bills.

The reasons for excitement regarding the Bills and Chiefs are obvious; who wouldn't want to play with quarterbacks like Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes? Yet, it is interesting that Hopkins apparently doesn't like the Jets, who are still in the process of trying to trade for Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

As for the Patriots, despite the mutual respect shared between him and head coach Bill Belichick, Hopkins does not apparently want to move to Foxboro. This may be due to his well-documented past with offensive coordinator Bill O'Brien.

Hopkins played under the then-head coach of the Houston Texans, O'Brien for six seasons before he shockingly traded the star wide receiver to the Cardinals in January of 2020.

Since that trade, numerous reports have indicated they didn't share a good relationship before the former Clemson product's move to Arizona.

But even if Hopkins was interested in joining the Patriots, the Cardinals' asking price has seemed to be a non-starter for New England. ... and now we've got some "body-language'' evidence to support the notion.
