Patriots Legend Tom Brady Urged to 'Shut The F*** Up!' About Tua's Dolphins

"It’s also now important for Tua to get word to Tommy to shut the f*** up about Tua’s job.” - PFT’s Mike Florio.

Is it bad manners for Tom Brady to personally insert himself into the Miami Dolphins picture when that team already employs a quarterback, making his inclusion in their business rather inappropriate? Maybe.

Is it bad manners for a media member to personally insert himself into the picture already crowded with the presence of the New England Patriots legend Brady and the Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa? Maybe.

"It’s also now important for Tua to get word to Tommy to shut the f*** up about Tua’s job. It would be great to see Tua show that kind of fire. And he’d be fully justified in doing it," Mike Florio wrote on ProFootballTalk.com.

Why so venomous, PFT? Brady was recently asked if he would consider coming out of retirement (again) to play for the Dolphins. Florio apparently believes Brady should’ve said “no.” But instead …

"Oh man. I will say, now that I'm not affiliated with any teams anymore, and I have strong ties with a couple teams, I do have some friends on the Dolphins that I really like," Brady said. "I wouldn't necessarily say that I root for them all the time, but I root for my friends to do well, and several of them play for Miami."

Is that impolite? In defense of Tua, Florio passionately - inappropriately? - believes so.

Maybe Brady spoke without thinking of the Tua ramifications. Or maybe Brady has a self-serving motive. Or heck, maybe Brady is practicing for his eventual entry into Florio’s media turf by offering commentary on the issues of the day. … like we do here. And like Florio does, with wild success, at PFT.

But here’s where it gets weirdly personal, as Florio wonders whether Tua is declining to respond out of “respect for his elders” … at which time the writer notes that he “was” taught that by his parents but that he curbed that politeness “once I started practicing law, and once I started dealing with other lawyers who were both much older than me and, well, complete assholes.”

Great story! But … it’s a twisty turn that we in the media would insist on demanding that Brady offer up his Tua-related commentary only in the most mannerly manner … while in the process identifying our foes as “a**holes” and advising those who we observe in the arena to “shut the f*** up.”
