Matthew Judon 'Unaware' of Patriots' Contract Talks?

If the New England Patriots are interested in extending Matthew Judon, someone forgot to tell the pass rusher himself.

Matthew Judon has been so busy trying to lure others to the New England Patriots that someone apparently forgot to keep him updated on his own Foxborough fate.

Rumors have emerged that the Patriots plan to use the quelling of the free agent storm to look into extending Judon, one of the rare consistent silver linings the franchise has enjoyed in the new decade. Judon, earner of 32 sacks over two-plus seasons in New England, is due to become an unrestricted free agent in 2025.

That appears to be news to Judon, who used an NFL rumor aggregation account on X to clear the air ... or lack thereof ... on his potential long-term status.

Patriots LB Matt Judon

"Who ain’t tell gm Judy???" Judon rhetorically asked on his own X account, playfully referencing his unofficial "general manager" status and his propensity to recruit talent from abroad to play for the Patriots. Replies to Judon's post are packed with Patriots fans who humbly ask that Judon consider extending his stay.

Concerns over injuries notwithstanding, Judon probably won't need to do much convincing and/or negotiating when the Patriots inevitably extend a formal offer to barter. Though a season-ending biceps injury limited him to four games this season, Judon established himself as one of the most formidable pass rushers in the league with 28 sacks between the 2021-22 seasons.

Judon previously hinted to Dan Roche of WBZ-TV that he would have no issues wearing a Flying Elvis on his helmet for the rest of his career.

“I don’t ever want to leave,” Judon told Roche in July. “I’m finding stuff like this and just making it home and trying to be more a part of the community, so I honestly never want to leave. That’s not my intent. Forever. I want to retire here. I’m very comfortable. I love it.”
