Patriots Ex Dated Jerry Rice’s Daughter: 'Intimidated!’
Long before becoming a three-time Super Bowl champion, former New England Patriots receiver Julian Edelman already knew what it felt like to wear a championship ring. This experience was thanks to his prom date and high school girlfriend, Jaqui Rice, the daughter of legendary receiver Jerry Rice.
During his recent appearance on the "New Heights" podcast, Edelman spilled the beans to hosts Travis and Jason Kelce about how he was actually taken to prom by Rice's daughter. Whenever he hung out with his prom date, Edelman couldn't help but sneak a peek at some of her dad's legendary memorabilia.
"She took me to her prom. I did wear those Super Bowl rings I used to go into his office all the time, he was never home so I'd be over there playing with his balls, his Super Bowl balls. I saw jerseys, it was crazy. Jerry Rice bro, I was a Bay area kid he was a f***** legend," Edelman said.
Edelman also recalls the first time he met Rice when he was a member of the Oakland Raiders. Like any high schooler who would be dating an NFL legend's daughter, he was intimidated by Rice.
"He came out yoked up, six-packed up with his chains on, dreads that are starting back here... He intimidated the f*** outta me. He wasn't having it," Edelman said.
Now that Edelman is a father of his own daughter, it's safe to say that when she invites friends over to their household, he will be one step ahead of the game and lock up the memorabilia from his legendary career.
