Patriots Target DeAndre Hopkins: 'I'll Make It Easy!'

DeAndre Hopkins put out a generic tweet that should soothe New England Patriots fans feeling antsy about their team's receiving corps.

If the New England Patriots had concerns about the workload DeAndre Hopkins is willing to bear, rare reassurance from the realm of social media should put them at ease when it comes to a potential contract.

Hopkins hasn't hesitated to document his journey as a free agent following his release from the Arizona Cardinals but has remained mostly mum on the instantaneous landscape of Twitter. He broke his apparent self-imposed exile from the app to make a promise to wherever he lands.

"Whoever’s in my future wide receiver group," Hopkins declares. "I promise I will make your job easy."

Hopkins has reportedly visited both Foxborough and Nashville's Tennessee Titans, though his Instagram activity placed him in New York City near the Giants and Jets. If and when Hopkins is signed, an undeniable jolt should send shockwaves throughout the NFL landscape during the relatively dead period between minicamp and the Hall of Fame Game exhibition.

The tweet from Hopkins, his first post on the app since May 31, should give particular reassurance to Patriots fans, who have had to endure some scathing criticism about their aerial corps in recent weeks after losing last year's top target, Jakobi Meyers, to Las Vegas.

Despite adding JuJu Smith-Schuster, as well as Mike Gesicki at tight end, the Patriots' receiving room was ranked 29th-best in the NFL by Pro Football Focus. Further controversy has erupted around their latter draft hauls, as there's speculation that project day three choice Kayshon Boutte could be on the roster bubble come final cut day.

Hopkins' apparent commitment to shoulder the offensive burden is certainly an inspiring offer to a team in desperate need of a playmaker. Time will tell if it's enough for the team to draft a contract.
