The Brady Lunch: Patriots Legend Tom Brady Maintaining Strict Football Diet?

Tom Brady's playing days are over, but the New England Patriots legend has continued to consume a breakfast of champions and then some.

Now that Tom Brady is able to enjoy football Sundays from his couch, don't expect him to partake in traditional game day cuisine.

The New England Patriots' legendary quarterback disclosed to People Magazine that he has continued to engage in his famous "TB12" diet even in retirement. After all, when you're asked about a return from retirement on a near-daily basis, it'd be wise to stay in shape.

Brady has made his stance on another NFL comeback abundantly clear. But even if he's not putting a helmet back on, he's keeping active through other sports such as golf and pickleball. For those reasons and more, Brady is keeping up with his diet even though the rigorous weeks of NFL preparation are behind him.

"I've developed so many healthy habits, I just want to stick with them," Brady told People. "I love my time with my family and trying to get some work things done. I'm still staying pretty busy."

The TB12 diet, defined as "roughly 80 percent plant-based foods and 20 percent animal-based foods," eschews sugar, dairy, caffeine, and more including strawberries ... which Brady he knocked out simply because he "didn't like the taste."

Like many of his impossible game day tasks and accomplishments, Brady finds sticking to the supposedly stringent dietary requirements to be a breeze.

"I don't think it's a strict regimen," Brady said. "I think it's just trying to make healthy choices that allow me to live the life I want to live."

Despite his continued athletic affairs away from the gridiron, Brady will make his return to Foxborough this fall, as the Patriots will honor his legendary career in blue and silver during their 2023 season opener on Sept. 10 against the Philadelphia Eagles.
