The New England Patriots have released wide receiver Josh Gordon off injured reserve, according to the MMQB's Albert Breer.

Gordon was placed on IR early last week following a knee injury that he suffered earlier this season. The plan all along was for Gordon to be released once he was fully healthy. He is now subject to waivers.

As Breer mentions, teams can begin to put in claims for Gordon starting at 4 p.m. today, and have 24 hours to do such. At 4 p.m. on Friday, he will be awarded to the team with the worst record in the league. If no team claims him, he will become a free agent.

In six games this season for the Patriots, Gordon had 20 receptions for 287 yards and one touchdown.
