Raiders' Davante Adams is Always Looking to Learn

Las Vegas Raiders star wide receiver Davante Adams will be entering his 11th NFL season but is still always striving to evolve.

Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams is past the decade mark in his NFL career, but that does not mean his knowledge has reached full capacity.

Watching him on the field, it may not look like that is the case, but in order to be great, Adams is constantly on a mission to learn more.

Adams said nobody should ever think they have it all figured out when he joined the latest episode of "The Shop."

"The thing is, you can learn in so many different ways," he said. "Like, I learn from new guys. Like, I learned from Jakobi [Meyers] this year so much that I didn't know before."

New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft, who was also a guest on the episode, was quick to chime in on the mentioning of his former Patriot wide receiver, Meyers.

"We shouldn't have let him go," Kraft said.

"I was going to get to that, but I ain't going to say that," Adams replied. "I appreciate you, though. He was basically like the best kept secret in the league for me because I've seen a lot of guys, I watch tape of dudes like -- I watch Ritchie James' tape, like, guys that people know and respect, but not as far as -- you would think I would be watching Jets [Justin Jefferson] all day. I love watching his tape, but I would be watching the third guy if I like what he does."

Adams said it's Meyers' route-running in particular that he examines.

"It's not really about the teach because he's one of the most quiet human beings I've ever been around. Like, some people get so quiet to where it's uncomfortable. If he wasn't so cool of a person, it would be there.

"So, he's not going to be like, 'Hey, Tae, try this or that.' But just certain small things within his routes; he's not the fastest guy in the world, so he's really good at changing -- he can move within his routes, change your pace while he's running full speed is something, probably one of the best that I've seen so far."

The NFL Draft will be held in Detroit, Mich., on April 25-27, 2024. The Las Vegas Raiders currently have the No. 13 overall pick.
