Las Vegas Raiders' Adams, AP Share Connection of Growing up Raiders Fans

Both Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams and coach Antonio Pierce have been lifelong fans of the Silver and Black.

Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams has constantly made it known he is a Raider through and through, dating back all the way to childhood.

Adams grew up in the Bay Area and was a fan of the Silver and Black at a young age. While Adams is entering just his third season with the Raiders, he knows quite well what it means to don the shield.

So, too, does his coach, Antonio Pierce, who also grew up a Raiders fan as a native of Compton, California. While Pierce never suited up for the Silver and Black during his nine seasons as a linebacker in the NFL, Pierce has always known what the Raiders stand for.

While every player currently on the Las Vegas Raiders' roster is committed to the organization, Pierce and Adams have a passion and understanding that runs just a bit deeper than most in the building. Because of that, Adams can appreciate that he and his leader are on the same page when it comes to knowing the direction they want to take the franchise in.

"I mean, it's big, it's what you want," Adams told reporters at his youth football camp on Sunday. "As a leader of a team, you want the head guy to be in cahoots with what you got going on. So ... being in line there, it makes it so much easier; we don't have to have half of the conversations that you would probably have to have with another coach [who] doesn't see the same way.

"So, we both just want to win, so having that same kind of common denominator, it helps us both."

Adams is entering his 11th NFL season and third with the Raiders. Pierce, meanwhile, is entering his first season as a full-time head coach, after serving as the Raiders interim head coach for nine games last season.

Both men are quite familiar with the playoffs but have yet to see a postseason since joining the Raiders in the 2022 offseason. They each will be hoping to turn that around in the 2024 season.

The NFL Draft will be held in Detroit, Mich., on April 25-27, 2024. The Las Vegas Raiders currently have the No. 13 overall pick.
