Brandon Facyson on Returning to a New-Look Raiders Team
Las Vegas Raiders cornerback Brandon Facyson saw great personal and team success in his lone season with the Raiders in 2021-22.
After a one-year stint with the Indianapolis Colts, Facyson re-joined Las Vegas in free agency this offseason.
Of course, much has changed since Facyson's first go-round with the Silver and Black, with an all-new coaching staff, some major losses, and additions to the roster.
When the veteran cornerback went to Indianapolis, he was reunited with former Raiders defensive coordinator Gus Bradley, but Facyson now has to form brand new relationships.
While not all the faces are the same as when he was last in Las Vegas, Facyson believes the culture remains the same.
"I feel like there are differences, but at the end of the day it's all about work, all about winning and all about creating this family feeling here," Facyson told the media following the Raiders' minicamp practice on Thursday. "And I feel like we do a good job of creating that. When I was here in '21, it was a family feeling. I feel like it's the same thing right now just with new faces, especially for me it's just new faces and that's it. Same feeling -- I love it here, so not too much of a difference. Obviously there are different people, but at the end of the day it's all the same goal."
Facyson said learning a new defensive scheme has been "smooth."
I think Coach [Patrick] Graham has been doing a great job," Facyson said. "Obviously, like you said, I've been with my same coaches the entirety of my career. So being with new people and learning a new scheme, I feel like it's been a smooth transition. At the end of the day, we're just here to win, we're just here to play ball and focus in. That's just what it comes down to, but it's been great."
Facyson made nine starts in 12 games with the Raiders during the 2021 season.
