The Las Vegas Raiders selected Alabama defensive tackle Byron Young with the 70th overall pick of the 2023 NFL Draft.

Young was a dominant presence up front for the Crimson Tide, ultimately being named to the American Football Coaches Association' All-American Second Team and the Associated Press' All-SEC First Team for his 2022 campaign.

He posted a career-best 47 tackles, five for losses, 3.5 sacks, two passes defensed and a forced fumble in 13 games.

The season prior, he collected 40 tackles, 9.5 for losses and two sacks in 15 games, helping lead the Crimson Tide to an appearance in the national title game.

That followed the last season Alabama did win it all, when Young recorded 29 tackles, 6.5 for losses, a sack and a fumble recovery in 13 games.

He totaled 23 tackles, 1.5 for losses, a sack and a pass defensed in his freshman season.

Overall, Young registered 139 tackles, 22.5 for losses, 7.5 sacks and three passes defensed in his four seasons with the Crimson Tide.

He recorded a 26-inch vertical jump, nine-foot broad jump and 7.68-second three-cone drill at this year's combine.

Young is a native of Laurel, Mississippi and played high school ball for West Jones.

He was ranked the No. 7 player in the state by ESPN.
