Davante Adams Wants His Former QB in Las Vegas With Him
Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams reunited with his former quarterback, Derek Carr, this past season.
With Carr and the Raiders expected to part ways soon, Adams could be teaming up with another one of his old quarterbacks, Aaron Rodgers.
Adams has made it clear he wants Rodgers in Las Vegas.
The tandem played eight seasons together with the Green Bay Packers. In that time, Adams was selected to two All-Pro first teams and five Pro Bowls, while Rodgers was named to three All-Pro first teams, seven Pro Bowls, and earned the league MVP award three times.
"Duh. Why would anybody not do that?" Adams told Cameron Wolfe of the NFL Network, who asked the All-Pro receiver if he has started recruiting Rodgers. "I mean, 100 percent. That's my guy, obviously. And wishful thinking, but we'll see what happens."
Rodgers was made well aware by Raiders fans this past weekend that he's wanted in Las Vegas.
While participating in the amateur portion of the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am golf tournament, Rodgers heard a crowd of "Raiders" chants directed his way.
Rodgers, of course, would not disclose any insight into where he sees himself next season.
"I'm just going to say that the predominant team we hear while walking is Raiders," he told CBS reporter Amanda Balionis Renner. "A lot of Raider fans are encouraging me. A lot of 'Davante misses you' comments."
The 2023 NFL Draft will go from April 27-29 and be held at Union Station in Kansas City, Mo. The NFL Scouting Combine is Feb. 28-March 6, 2023, at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Ind. On March 7, 2023, before 4 p.m. EST is the club's deadline to designate Franchise or Transition Players.
March 13-15 is the free agent negotiation period. Starting at 12 p.m. EST on March 13 and ending at 3:59:59 p.m. EST on March 15, clubs are permitted to contact and enter into contract negotiations with the certified agents of players who will become Unrestricted Free Agents upon the expiration of their 2022 Player Contracts at 4 p.m. EST on March 15.
The 2023 NFL Year and Free Agency period begins at 4 p.m. EST on March 15. The Raiders are expected to be significant players in the free-agent market this season.
