Raiders Select Nesta Jade Silvera at No. 231 Overall
On Saturday, the Las Vegas Raiders selected Arizona State defensive tackle Nesta Jade Silvera with the No. 231 overall pick in the seventh round of the 2023 NFL Draft.
Silvera was a first-team All-Pac 12 honoree for the 2022 season, having posted 56 tackles, 4.5 for losses, 1.5 sacks, and a forced fumble. He transferred to Arizona State after playing four seasons at the University of Miami.
In 2021, his final season with the Hurricanes, Silvera made eight starts in 11 games, tallying 38 tackles, 5.5 for losses, and a fumble recovery.
The season before in 2020, the prospect was named All-ACC honorable mention. He started in 10 of 11 games, registering 35 tackles, eight for losses, a sack, a forced fumble, and a pass defensed.
Overall, Silvera totaled 105 tackles, 16 for losses, two sacks, a forced fumble, and a pass defensed as a member of the Hurricanes.
At the 2023 NFL Combine last month, Silvera recorded a 5.16-second 40-yard dash time, a 29.5-inch vertical jump, and a 9-foot-2-inch broad jump.
Silvera played high school football at Plantation American Heritage in Delray Beach, Fla., and was rated a consensus four-star recruit by ESPN, 247Sports, and Rivals.com.
The Raiders attained the 231st overall pick from the New England Patriots as part of the Jarrett Stidham trade in May of 2022, which sent Stidham and the seventh-round pick to Las Vegas in exchange for a sixth-round pick.
