On Thursday, the Las Vegas Raiders added more talent to their defensive line when they selected defensive end Tyree Wilson of Texas Tech with the seventh overall pick of the 2023 NFL Draft.

Wilson was one of the best edge rushers in the nation last season before he went down with a season-ending injury in the Red Raiders' 10th game.

Until then, he had totaled 61 tackles, 14 for losses, seven sacks, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery.

Wilson earned first-team All-American honors from the Football Writers Association of America and was named to the All-Big-12 First Team by league coaches, the Associated Press, and Phil Steele.

The prospect recorded 38 tackles, 13.5 tackles for losses, seven sacks, and a pass defensed in 13 games the season before.

Wilson posted ten tackles, 1.5 for a loss, and 1.5 sacks in nine games in his first season with the Red Raiders.

He transferred to Texas Tech after spending two years at Texas A&M. Wilson redshirted his freshman year before playing 12 games for the Aggies during the 2019 season.

Wilson earned a production score of 91 and an 89 from NFL Next Gen Stats for his performance at the NFL Combine. Both scores were the second-best for the defensive end position.
