Maxx Crosby Talks Meeting New Raider Additions

Las Vegas Raiders star defensive end Maxx Crosby talked about getting to meet the team's new signees.

The Las Vegas Raiders made big additions to their roster during the free agency period.

The biggest name they brought in was defensive tackle Christian Wilkins, who is one of the best players in the league at his position. He has improved each year he has been in the league. The Raiders got elite edge play in 2023; now they pair that with a game-wrecker on the interior.

The other big signing they made was veteran journeyman quarterback Gardner Minshew II. The Raiders had to cut Jimmy Garoppolo, so they had to add to the quarterback room. They bring in a player who has done an excellent job of coming in as a backup and keeping teams afloat.

Defensive end Maxx Crosby, the team’s heart and soul, has met a few of his new teammates. He spoke about it on the latest episode of his podcast, "The Rush with Maxx Crosby."

“It’s been dope,” he said. “We start OTAs Monday, so we’ll have everybody there. Minshew’s been in there the last couple weeks. F---ing legend. Love that guy. Minshew, the guys, D-Line, everybody has been getting after it.”

Crosby has not met Wilkins yet, but he is a fan of the Raiders' offseason moves.

“I haven’t seen Christian yet,” he said. We’ll see him very soon. The best teams are all — you have a sixth sense. You’re around them; you know exactly how this person is. Christian, for example, he’s going to be here. Me and him are going to be working every single day. ‘How do you like to rush? Where do you like to line up? What do you like to do in this situation?’ and you just bounce ideas off of each other.”

Crosby then discussed the off-the-field element of team bonding he wants to see with his new teammates.

“I think that is the most important, critical thing," he said. "Then, on top of it, off the field. During the season, you have to keep that s--- rolling. We’re around each other, OTAs; it’s cool when you don’t have games, it’s easier to be around each other. But when it’s the season, you’re f---ing tired, but we’re doing D-Line dinner. That’s every Thursday, we’re going to a restaurant, we’re spending time with each other, meeting each other’s families, and that’s when you have that real bond and real trust that directly translates in the game.”
