When new Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Jakobi Meyers steps on the field at Allegiant Stadium for the first time as a member of the Silver and Black this upcoming season, it will have been the first time he's played in the stadium since his unfortunate blunder in Week 15 of last season.

For Raiders fans, it's a pleasant memory. For Meyers, it's likely one he wants to put behind him.

For those who might not recall, Meyers was the New England Patriot who threw the ball that ultimately ended up in the hands of Raiders pass rusher Chandler Jones, who took it to the house to clinch the victory as the clock hit zeros.

Meyers was a good sport about the whole event when he signed on with Las Vegas in March.

Even when the Raiders prepare to host New England again in Week 6 of the 2023 campaign, the wide receiver isn't exactly looking to right his wrongs.

Meyers said in his virtual appearance on NFL Total Access on Monday that he looks forward to the showdown, "but not for the reasons that people think."

"People think, 'Oh, your old team, you want to do your best.' But you know, I got family over there," Meyers said. "Like real family who I practiced against, talked a lot of trash against for years. So I'm just excited to finally get to go out there, and we're going to see how all those practice reps going against each other look in real-game performances. So it's going to be a lot of fun just playing against old friends and seeing a lot of old people. So I've got it circled for those reasons, not for any dire reasons."

Meyers registered 2,758 receiving yards and eight touchdowns in his four seasons with the Patriots.

His meeting with New England in Week 6 will be a reunion for him, Raiders Coach Josh McDaniels, and several other Raiders who are former Patriots.

The Raiders' offseason workout schedule is as follows:

OTA Offseason workouts: May 22-23, May 25, May 31-June 2, June 12-15

Mandatory Minicamp: June 6-8
