Famous as a player for telling his teammates to seek respect, not likes, I asked Antonio Pierce about how that has transpired with his team. "I think it's interesting, because when you look at the person you probably think otherwise," Pierce said. "But when you get to the root and substance, that's what I'm made of and that's my belief. Fortunate to have a grandmother and mother who raised me right, taught me how to do things the right way, not just on the football field, but in life. And I think it's my job, and my job is to serve those guys and make them understand what it's like to be a professional football player, husband, a father, a good man, good person in the community -- all that stuff that's put me in the position I'm at today. I just give them my life lessons. And it doesn't work for everybody, everybody's different. They don't all come from the same walks of life, but I think we all understand what it's like to carry those traits. Those traits can go into any building, any workplace, any facet of our life."
From February 27 to March 4, 2024, the NFL Scouting Combine will be held at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Ind.
The NFL Draft will be held in Detroit, Mich., on April 25-27, 2024. The Las Vegas Raiders currently hold the No. 13 overall pick.
