Los Angeles Rams 'Back From Dead' in Playoff Hunt After Dominating Win vs. Cardinals?

Could the Los Angeles Rams be back in the hunt for a playoff spot? If Sunday's performances turn into a trend, the answer is yes.

Don't look now, but the Los Angeles Rams aren't dead yet in terms of a playoff berth.

The Rams crushed a division rival on Sunday in the form of a 37-14 win over the Arizona Cardinals, and, without a doubt, it's the best that Los Angeles has looked in weeks.

Matthew Stafford looked like his old self at quarterback, putting up 229 passing yards and four scores alongside one interception. Running back Kyren Williams, in his first game back from injury, exploded to the tune of 143 yards on the ground, and Stafford spread the ball around to eight different receivers in the win.

In short, it was a good day for the visiting Rams, but what is more important is what it could mean for the future of the season.

It appeared that the Rams' playoff hopes were on life support just two weeks ago, but a one-point win over the Seattle Seahawks last week paired with this one on Sunday have certainly established some positive momentum in L.A.

With one more win, the Rams would have what we call a "winning streak" in the sports business, something that seemed foreign to this organization last month.

Again, it's just one game, but the Rams are now 5-6 overall, and while that isn't stellar, it's certainly better than the 3-6 mark where this turnaround began.

For this trend to matter, it has to continue. That's the bottom line. The Rams have a shot to do so at home next week when they play host to the Cleveland Browns, but that game will be much less of a "gimme" than one against the downtrodden Cardinals.

But am I saying there's a chance for a playoff push? There's always been a chance, sure, but that chance looks a lot more real after Sunday's dominating performance, even if it was against subpar competition.

One game at a time is the only way this can be attacked, but for two weeks, the Rams have passed in that category.
