Rams to Sign Commanders Free Agent Safety Kamren Curl

One of the areas where the Los Angeles Rams could have used help last season was their secondary, and they just got that help in free agency.

The Los Angeles Rams have already made a number of moves since NFL free agency began, and they just made perhaps the most impactful addition so far.

According to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo, the Rams are going to sign former Washington Commanders safety Kamren Curl in free agency. The deal is for two years and could be worth up to $13 million.

The Rams' secondary was one of the biggest issues last season, as they were bottom five in the entire league in passing yards allowed. So making a signing like this is filling a major hole with a young rising star.

Curl is only 24 years old and is seen as one of the best young safeties in the league. He started in all 16 games that he appeared in this past season, and while he did not have an interception, all the rest of his statistics more than make up for it.

He finished the year with a very impressive 115 total tackles, with 74 of them being solo tackles. He also tallied three tackles for loss, one sack, and one forced fumble.

This is yet another young player that the Rams now have on that side of the ball, as the core of Chris Shula's defense will be good for years to come. Curl will be looking to help the Rams' secondary and contribute to the team making the playoffs and contending for a Super Bowl.
