Los Angeles Rams Find Much-Needed Gutsy Win vs. Seattle Seahawks
For three quarters on Sunday, it seemed that the Los Angeles Rams were dead in the water.
Even with Matthew Stafford's return at quarterback, the Rams' offense looked stagnant in the first half, and it wasn't much better in the third quarter. But the Rams did enough late in the game to come away with a 17-16 win, sweeping the season series over the Seattle Seahawks in the process and keeping hope alive in what has been a subpar 2023 campaign.
Los Angeles trailed 16-7 in the fourth quarter, and even with Seattle quarterback Geno Smith injuring his elbow, it seemed that a two-score deficit was going to be too steep a hill to climb. The Rams, however, drove down the field and found the end zone from a yard out via a Darrell Henderson carry, and a turnover from the Seahawks turned into what became the game-deciding field goal off the leg of Lucas Havrisik.

Seattle mounted a comeback effort, but a 52-yard field goal with less than ten seconds remaining sailed wide, and the Rams held on for their first win in a month.
Make no mistake: there is still an uphill battle for this team the rest of the way. A 4-6 record after Sunday's win is nothing to write home about, but it's better than 3-7, and it showed that this team hasn't thrown in the towel after a poor start, one that was spurred by injuries early in the season.
Maybe it will amount to nothing, but if the Rams are able to find themselves in the playoff discussion late in the year, we can all look back at this Sunday's win as the turning point. The NFL is a league of inches, and in this case, it boiled down to a one-point win over a division rival.
But that's just the kind of win this team needed, and it got the job done this week.
