'S***, Just Doin' What I Do!' Maxx Fight Gets Cam Akers Kicked Out of Practice

Los Angeles Rams running back Cam Akers got into quite the scuffle with Las Vegas Raiders on Wednesday

The Las Vegas Raiders have an old-fashioned reputation for being nasty. The Los Angeles Rams have a modern-version rep for fighting during joint practices.

Old met new on Wednesday when Raiders defensive end Maxx Crosby and Rams running back Cam Akers met ... both of them taking the reputation so far that the Rams kicked Akers out of his own practice.

"S***, I was just doing what I do," Crosby said to the media following a brawl in which punches were thrown. "He didn't like that, so he got what he got. It is what it is."

What did Crosby do? In Akers' obvious view, his attempt to punch the ball loose after the play was dead was excessive. Akers was apparently ejected from his own team's workout because of his unwillingness to let the interaction be forgotten.

A fight in a Rams joint workout? That is a commonplace thing. These two teams have battled this way before, and the Rams have done the same thing with the  Chargers and the Dallas Cowboys in previous summer training camps ... where things can get so heated that even the great Aaron Donald once lost control to the point he was swinging his helmet at the heads of his foes.

Is is all over now? Not necessarily, because as is often the case, the joint workouts are part of a lead-up to a preseason game. Next up? Saturday's preseason game between the Raiders and Rams, with Crosby and Akers probably behaving themselves ... maybe because they won't actually be playing.
