L.A. Rams Post Super Bowl Mock Draft: Edge Help For Aaron Donald?

The Los Angeles Rams need some help on the edge, and in PFF's latest two-round NFL Mock Draft, that is exactly what they get.

As the confetti settles and the echoes of the Super Bowl fade, football fans waste no time in shifting their focus to the next big event: the 2024 NFL Draft.

With anticipation building and teams already strategizing their moves, Pro Football Focus (PFF) is quick to draw up another mock draft, projecting which positions the Los Angeles Rams will prioritize in their quest to fortify their roster for the upcoming season - starting with some help for Aaron Donald up front.

Round 1 Pick 19 EDGE Laiatu Latu

The youth movement in Los Angeles took off in 2023, led by standout talents like Puka Nacua, Kobie Turner, Steve Avila, Byron Young, and second-year running back Kyren Williams. Now, with PFF projecting Latu as a potential addition, anticipation runs high in the City of Angels. His high pass-rush IQ suggests he'll make an immediate impact, especially given the expected volume of snaps in L.A.

In 2022, Latu proved to be a dominant force on the field, wreaking havoc on opposing offensive lines with 10.5 sacks, 12.5 total tackles for loss, and three forced fumbles. His impact only intensified in 2023, where he showcased his versatility and skill set with an impressive stat line of 49 tackles, including 21.5 total tackles for loss, 13 sacks, two interceptions, two pass breakups, and two forced fumbles.

Latu's outstanding performance earned him prestigious accolades, including the Lombardi Award, making him the first UCLA Bruin ever to receive this honor as the nation's top defensive lineman. Additionally, he clinched the Ted Hendricks Award, recognizing him as the country's top defensive end.

Round 2 Pick 51 CB Kamari Lassiter

In 2023, the Rams have bolstered their defensive lineup with rookies on the edge and defensive line, giving them the flexibility to consider the best player available options for those positions. However, they cannot afford to overlook the opportunity to inject new talent into their roster, especially in the cornerback position.

Kamari Lassiter, a cornerback from Georgia, has garnered attention for his impressive performances on the field. Described as a versatile and dynamic player, Lassiter possesses a rare combination of speed, agility, and coverage skills that make him a standout prospect.

Upon his arrival on campus, Kamari Lassiter wasted no time making his presence felt on the field. As a true freshman, he quickly earned a role on special teams and as a reserve cornerback. His dedication and talent were evident as he seamlessly transitioned into a contributing member of the team.

By his sophomore year, Lassiter had already solidified his place as a starter, showcasing his abilities in all 15 games. His standout performances did not go unnoticed, as he earned recognition by being named to the All-SEC team as he entered his junior year.
