WATCH: Rams QB Stetson Bennett's OTA Touchdown Pass

Los Angeles Rams rookie quarterback Stetson Bennett is trying to make a strong first impression this offseason as he battles for the right to backup Matthew Stafford.

OTAs are well underway for the Los Angeles Rams as they enter their final four days of voluntary workouts. Following the conclusion of OTAs on Thursday, June 8th, the Rams will have a few days off before the start of the mandatory minicamp.

For rookie Rams quarterback Stetson Bennett it is about making every practice count as he is locked into a position battle with Brett Rypien to determine the role of Matthew Stafford's backup. Despite the original thinking that Bennett would have the job handed him to after becoming the first signal-caller selected by the Rams during the Sean McVay era, he now has competition.

Yet, from what the Rams have released via their social media accounts, it doesn't seem to be shying Bennett away from trying to make plays.

The video posted by the Rams on Thursday gave fans their first look at a Bennett highlight play. In the clip, Bennett is seen rolling to his left, presumably on a play-action play, before squaring up his shoulders to tight end Hunter Long for a touchdown pass.

Having to prove himself is nothing new for Bennett, as the former walk-on still has his fair share of doubters even after ending his collegiate career with 8,429  passing yards, 66 touchdowns, and 21 interceptions in the process of winning two national titles, both in back-to-back seasons.
