Rams' Sean McVay Reveals Reasons For Victory Over Seahawks

The Los Angeles Rams have already started to defy their bottom tier expectations.

The Los Angeles Rams have been placed in the bottom tier of the NFL throughout the offseason due to their extremely young and inexperienced roster.

Although it's not much to brag about, the Rams already have a better record than half of the league after their surprising Week 1 victory over the Seattle Seahawks.

Rams coach Sean McVay revealed during Monday's press conference how his team pulled off the 30-13 upset in Seattle.

"There's just been a great attention to detail, there's been a great willingness to be accountable and coachable," McVay said. "These guys love playing football with their teammates. They're continuing to come together as a team, which is the most important thing. Football is supposed to be a fun game and I think we play our best when they're enjoying it."

The Rams shined on both sides of the ball, as quarterback Matthew Stafford threw for 334 yards while the defense didn't allow a single first down the entire second half.

McVay explained that he was "proud of the way that the guys played," but was even more content with another winning asset.

"I was most pleased with the way that we played as a team because football is a team sport," McVay said. "Even though there's three phases that are out there at separate times, I thought they picked one another up. I thought we played good complimentary football."

Despite the commanding result, the Rams were down 13-7 at halftime. As previously mentioned, Los Angeles was excellent on offense and defense in the second half and McVay said that the early deficit lit a spark and brought them together.

"We went through some adversity and found a way to stay the course," McVay said. "Nothing changed as we continued to take it one play at a time. You got to be able to play all four quarters. It's never going to be perfect and how you handle those ebbs and flows is usually going to be indicative of what you feel like at the end."

The Rams are hoping to continue to "come together as a team" against the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday.
