Sean McVay's time with the Los Angeles Rams has been marked by exceptional success. In his first season as head coach in 2017, he earned the title of Coach of the Year. Building on this early accomplishment, McVay led the team to two Super Bowl appearances, winning one, all achieved before turning 40.

As McVay embarks on his seventh season as a head coach, he retains the distinction of being the youngest head coach in the NFL. In contrast, Pete Carroll, the head coach of the Seattle Seahawks, claims the title of the league's oldest head coach.

Carroll's position within the same division has given him a firsthand view of the Rams' extraordinary success under McVay's leadership. Their head-to-head matchups have been fiercely contested, with McVay holding an 8-5 record against Carroll over six seasons, including a postseason victory. Carroll's experience has fueled his deep respect and admiration for McVay's coaching abilities, as he recently expressed during an interview with OnPoint Live.

"He's one of the best coaches that I've ever worked against," Carroll said. "I expect that it's always going to be a battle. I love competing against him. I like that he's a young guy and I'm an old guy and we gotta figure out how to go head-to-head all the time."

McVay and Carroll won't have to wait much longer for their teams to square off against each other, as the Rams are scheduled to travel to Seattle for a Week One divisional showdown against the Seahawks.
