'My Son Knows Better': Los Angeles Rams Sean McVay Clarifies Status vs. Pittsburgh Steelers

Any concerns of Los Angeles Rams coach Sean McVay not being on the sidelines for Sunday's game versus the Pittsburgh Steelers could be put to rest.

With the birth of Sean McVay and Veronika Khomyn's son expected to come at any time now, any worries about the game status of the Los Angeles Rams coach can be put to bed.

"I'm not going to miss a game," McVay said when recently asked about whether he'd be on the sidelines for the game on Sunday. "My son knows better than to come during a game."

The initial reports of uncertainty regarding McVay stemmed from a press conference last week ahead of the Rams' 26-9 win over the Arizona Cardinals, where he said the staff does have contingency plans in place but never did exactly say what those were.

However, after a weekend of speculation as to who would step up if Khomyn goes into labor, which ultimately didn't happen, McVay's news could be a sigh of relief for fans as the Rams look to get over .500 with a win over the Pittsburgh Steelers

The Rams currently sit as a three-point favorite over the Steelers, who, despite sitting at 3-2, aren't quite off to the start many would've imagined. Through five games, the Steelers have a -31 point differential, as their offense under coordinator Matt Canada is among the worst in the league.

The Steelers are averaging the third-lowest points (15.8) and yards per game (268.2). Additionally, their passing game ranks 27th in yards per game, and to make matters worse, they aren't doing much better in the run game, where they rank 28th.

As the Rams sit at 3-3 currently, the matchup with the Steelers couldn't have come at a better time for both a young Rams defense and McVay, who is still awaiting the birth of his son.

The Rams will play to host the Steelers on Sunday inside SoFi Stadium, where kickoff is scheduled for 4:05 p.m.
