Offense at a Premium as Los Angeles Rams Trail Arizona Cardinals at Half

The Los Angeles Rams' offense has appeared out-of-sync through the first 30 minutes of play against the Arizona Cardinals.

If you enjoy defensive battles, then Sunday afternoon's game at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles is for you.

The host Los Angeles Rams trail the Arizona Cardinals 9-6 at the intermission on Sunday, and their lone points coming via Brett Maher field goals, one with 11 seconds left in the first quarter and the other with eight seconds remaining in the second. The Rams have only amassed 123 yards of total offense and an abysmal five on the ground through two quarters. Quarterback Matthew Stafford and company also looked out-of-sync in the first half, putting up 134 yards through the air.

The Rams offense did show some signs of life late in the half, however, as Stafford connected with wideout Cooper Kupp for 49 yards, a play that set up Maher's second field goal. Of Los Angeles' 134 passing yards, 101 of them have gone to Kupp alone.

From a defensive perspective, the Rams haven't played poorly, but they have allowed 103 yards on the ground to Arizona so far. The leading rusher for the visitors is actually quarterback Joshua Dobbs with 38 yards, followed closely by Keaontay Ingram with 36.

In total, five Cardinal players have tallied at least one carry so far on Sunday.

The Cardinals started the scoring with 11:25 left in the first frame with a field goal from Matt Prater (55 yards). Following the Rams tying the game at three, Prater made another field goal for Arizona (32 yards) to regain the lead.

Dobbs helped lead a two-minute drill late in the half to give his team another scoring opportunity, one that was capped off by yet another Prater field goal from 27 yards out.
