Rams Coach Raheem Morris Raves on 'Mobile, Smart' Threat of Giants QB Tyrod Taylor

Tyrod Taylor will start at quarterback for the New York Giants on Sunday when they host the Los Angeles Rams.

The Tommy DeVito hype has seemingly run its course for the New York Giants as they are turning back to quarterback Tyrod Taylor in this week's start against the Los Angeles Rams.

After the injury to starter Daniel Jones this season, the Giants have been in somewhat of a quarterback limbo, but Rams defensive coordinator Raheem Morris is not taking the veteran Taylor lightly. In fact, he knows that he's still dangerous, especially when plays break down.

“Mobile, smart, throws a really well-defined deep ball, probably one of the better things he does," Morris said. "Creates time in the pocket to create down the field. When he was younger, probably took off a little bit faster, was a little bit more mobile.

"I'm not knocking his athleticism, but just like everybody else, you'll get a little bit slower but still got enough to move around the pocket, manipulate the pocket, move up in the pocket, step out, hurt you with his feet if he has to get what he can get and get down, and then find open receivers because he creates time. He's big at that, always has been.”

So far this season, Taylor has thrown for 725 yards, three touchdowns and one interception.

The Rams will face Taylor and the Giants in a 10 a.m. PT kickoff from the Meadowlands in New Jersey on Sunday, and the game will be televised on FOX.
